Obsolete Anonymous

Moderator: Welcome to Obsolete Anonymous! I’ve gathered you all here to welcome our latest member, the Print Industry.

Print Industry: Hello, everyone. But there’s been a mistake. I don’t belong here.

(chuckles all around)

Print Industry: I’m serious. I’m not obsolete. I’m relevant. Print books have been around for hundreds of years. They’re never going to be replaced.

VHS Tapes: Yeah, we all thought like that once.

LP Records: It’s called denial. It’s tough to deal with at first.

‚Ogooglebar‘ … and 14 Other Swedish Words We Should Incorporate Into English Immediately

1. Bloggbävning, n.
Definition: Literally translating to „blogquake,“ the word describes the process by which a topic explodes in the blogosphere and is then picked up by more mainstream media outlets.

You didn’t make the Harlem Shake go viral—corporations did

(Quartz, Kevin Ashton)

The technology may have changed, but the money still flows the same way: to creators of contracts not creators of content.

Find The Thing You’re Most Passionate About, Then Do It On Nights And Weekends For The Rest Of Your Life

(TheOnion, David Ferguson)
The Onion mit einem praktischen Lebenstip über Arbeit und das zu tun, was man liebt:

Before you get started, though, you need to find the one interest or activity that truly fulfills you in ways nothing else can. Then, really immerse yourself in it for a few fleeting moments after an exhausting 10-hour day at a desk job and an excruciating 65-minute commute home. During nights when all you really want to do is lie down and shut your eyes for a few precious hours before you have to drag yourself out of bed for work the next morning, or on weekends when your friends want to hang out and you’re dying to just lie on your couch and watch TV because you’re too fatigued to even think straight—these are the times when you need to do what you enjoy most in life.
